Carvings

We carved the pumpkins in shifts the other day while Mom was fighting a cold and also had to go to the store.  The boys carved two pumpkins while the girls were out, and then Kylie carved her own when she got home (with supervision).

Then, we lit them up at night to watch them glow!

Will's last game

Both kids had their last baseball game of the fall season yesterday.  Since Mom is Kylie's coach, there are no pictures of that game, but there might be some of her trophy ceremony from a friend later.  Will's game was an exciting one!  They ended up winning 6-2 against a team they had played twice before and won one, lost one.  There are some amazing plays happening on the field now that the boys can catch.  There was even an unassisted diving catch of a line drive turned into a double play.  This is Will's last time guaranteed to play with these kids.  They have been together for 6 seasons.  

After this, it is on to the big draft and kid pitch in the spring.  

We took a team photo after the game and tried to take full advantage of our team name, the Marauders.  

Pumpkins

Last Thursday, Mom took the kids to the pumpkin patch after school.  It was our only day without baseball or swim team, so we squeezed in the trip.  It's strange to not be going to the pumpkin patch with preschool for the first time in 5 years.  We had a fun and quick adventure and picked out some great pumpkins.  

We had time to play in the hay barn, visit the cats and cows and horses and go on a hayride, too.  Then, we grabbed dinner at a local place and headed home for the night.  

Apple Picking 2015

We are late getting the the orchard this year.  There was a bit of a hurricane problem last week and baseball takes over most of our weekends when kayaking doesn't.  

This morning, both kids had games at 9am so we were done with baseball (which was very chilly and muddy) by noon.  We headed to the crowded weekend orchard.  

Luckily, once you are at the orchard, you can kind of wander away from anyone and be on your own among the apples.  We spent a lot of time out in the trees taking pictures and running crazy.

And then we tried for our annual family photo.  

We got some very realistic shots.

And then Mom said the best smile wins a donut.

but they went right back to silliness.

Everyone got a donut.  Kylie had ice cream and Will had fudge and we went on a hayride before heading home.
