Adorable Overload

Seriously, this kid couldn't get any cuter, could she?

Lately, these two fight and bicker quite often, but sometimes they feel the love and snuggle.

Until Will tries to squish Kylie with love.

Luckily, someone is watching them.

Innocent? I think not.

Many Faces of Kylie

This girl is full of expressions. Lately, her favorite words are, "NO! MINE! ME!!" She lays claim to just about everything from Mommy and Daddy to the bathroom door. And let me tell you, she can hold her own against just about anyone.

6 years

While every one else was out shopping and looking for Black Friday deals, we were celebrating our Black Friday deal from 6 years ago: our wedding anniversary! Josh informed Megan that she needed to dress up and be prepared to go out on Friday, but he did not tell her any more than that.

It turned out that Josh made reservations at The Melting Pot, a fondue restaraunt that Megan has always wanted to go to. It was delicious! The food and drinks were AMAZING and the atmosphere and just perfect for a date night. Grammie and Grandpa were on hand to babysit, and they asked us if the restaurant was crowded but honestly, we never even saw another table because the booths are designed so you really feel like you are alone. We highly recommend this as a date night and hope to try it again someday. Yum. Thanks to Grammie and Grandpa for the babysitting services and the long weekend visit!

Thanksgiving

We had a great day on Thursday in Maryland. It is just so nice to be within driving distance of family, especially for holidays. The kids had a blast playing with Daddy's cousins' children and the adults enjoyed a nice warm day and a delicious meal.

This picture may have been the start of Kylie's over-indulgence of food, as she spent the evening and car ride home with sick tummy. Too much turkey and pie? Perhaps.

at least she looked good sneaking food...

We hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving weekend, too!

Happy Turkey

This would have been the cutest picture of these two, but, alas, I didn't notice the settings on the camera were mixed up until after I took it.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family who check in with us here! We love sharing out family adventures and children's growth with you and we are thankful for all your love and support through the years (6 tomorrow!)

In lieu of "Happy Thanksgiving", Kylie says "Ha-ppy Te-key". Happy Turkey, one and all!

Welcome, Holiday Season

There's a certain little boy in our house who LIVES for the holiday season. He's like our very own elf, full of good cheer. A few weeks ago, he requested that Santa and the reindeer be freed from their box in the garage. This is how they were found the other day, lined up, in order on top of Will's bed. Yes, he can "read" their names that are embroidered on their scarves.

He also is in love with this new shirt he got at Target the other day. His favorite character is the "bominal snow monster".

The outdoor portion of our mall has a new holiday tradition this year called "Christmas in Lights". It's a musical light show that happens three times a night every night until Christmas. We had to be in that area yesterday for the kids' dentist appointment, so we decided to have dinner there and wait for the show. It didn't dissappoint; the kids were entranced.

It was a bit weird for Mom and Dad, though, since basically the show comes out of no where; the plaza suddenly gets a little darker and the regular mall music fades as Christmas music blasts from seemingly no where. Everyone stops walking around and the trees and lights start to flash. After about 3 Christmas songs, the regular lights come back, the regular music comes back, and everyone starts walking normally again. Weird.

Our Native American, though, had his Thanksgiving feast at school yesterday and Mommy got to go for the day since Daddy stayed home with Ky. Will's had some trouble with his behavior in school in the last week, so it was nice for Mommy to get in there and see what's going on for herself.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone this week!

Boots in the Backyard

It's been awesomely warm here lately, so we've been spending a lot of time patroling the yard. Will loves to wear his rain boots (two sizes too small, but he hasn't noticed) and lately, Kylie's been trying to steal them from him. Mommy had to dip into the Christmas stash and give her her own pair to wear around the yard.

Sometimes, though, all that walking gets to her and she hitches a ride in a Tonka truck.

Photo Shoot Pictures

Our friend, Angela, from the YMCA is beginning her own photography business. She volunteered to take some pictures of our family at the battlefield as examples for her future website and clients. Here are a few of our favorites. Turns out, it's just as difficult for someone else to get both kids looking and smiling as it is for Mommy.
