These Boots Were Made for

It rained a cold rain almost all day today. After a weekend of violent stomach bugs for all 4 of us, we were ready to get out of the house today! Luckily, the weather cleared right before dinner and we were able to go outside and stomp around. Santa brought Will new rainboots: BATMAN rainboots!

Merry Christmas!

Ky was up at 5:30 this morning, despite not knowing that Santa had visited. Since Will still isn't feeling 100%, we waited until 7 to check on him, and he popped out of bed like a fresh piece of toast ready to check out the living room. First, the stockings. Everyone was pleased with their stocking stuffers, which included handmade gift card from Daddy for Mommy.

Then, we moved on to the wrapped stuff. Fueled by chocolate. At 8am.

Once the living room had been completely buried in boxes, ribbons and wrapping paper, it was time to play!

The turkey's in the oven and smells delicious and the children are napping. Merry Christmas!

Santa's Visit

On Christmas Eve, we always make Santa's cookies. Unfortunately, Will and Kylie spent Christmas Eve-Eve with tummy bugs. We weren't sure if they'd be up for cookie making and eating in general on Christmas Eve.

Kylie was the more recovered of the two, raring to go after her nap in the afternoon. She helped Mommy unwrap the kisses. She tried to eat every single one she unwrapped.

Will helped with almost every step of the cookie process.

When the cookies were done and cooling, Will made Santa a map which eventually showed the cookies, the tree, and a path to follow to get there. He wanted to call him St. Nick in his note, so that's what he wrote.

Once it was dark, it was time to leave some reindeer food outside. Will has been insistent all month that Dancer be the only reindeer allowed in the house. He fed the rest of them in the front and back yards. Dancer got a special bowl with carrots and reindeer food.

After the kiddos went to bed, Santa came and created quite a scene in the living room. He even tracked in magical snow on his boots all over the fireplace area. He left some miniature reindeer all lined up, protected by cones.

Once again that crazy Santa found the spare train tracks and extended the tracks across the whole room, even through present tunnels! The abominable snow monster was even trying to drive Kylie's new car!
