Halloween

Happy Halloween!  Our skeleton and Queen Elsa were up and ready to go at 5:30 this morning.  That is Mom's fault for telling the boy we would be meeting up with friends at 5:30 and going trick or treating when it was dark.  It was, indeed, dark at 5:30AM.  Apparently, Will can tell time now.

But first, they went to school.  Kylie had swimming at school.  Will got a bunch of treats at school.

Kylie came home with Squeaky, the Mouse mascot from her class. Squeaky visits a different home every weekend and keeps a journal of his adventures.  He went trick or treating as Rapunzel tonight.

Skeleton, Ninja, Darth Vadar, Queen Elsa and a Witch went trick or treating.  The ninja broke his shoulder on the monkey bars at school yesterday.  Tough kid, out there trick or treating anyway.

And Queen Elsa's full day of swimming and being up super early caught up with her.  It appears she fell asleep in the wagon while eating a lollipop but she is also a very good faker so we aren't quite sure she was asleep for real.

Carving Night

We were supposed to carve the pumpkins yesterday, but a slight misunderstanding at school for Will meant we needed to wait a night.  So, tonight was the night.  It was 86 degrees out today, so it was weird to be carving pumpkins.  Mom and the kids set to work when they got home from getting Will's trophy repaired.

Big brother was showing Kylie how it's done.  He must have the cleanest pumpkin on the planet as he scraped and scraped that thing clean.

Kylie picked a ghost and Will, the headless horseman.

When we were done, Daddy finally decided to join in.  He set to work but was quickly abandoned because we had already been at it for quite some time.

Please note the dog in the window.  She has to watch them at all times.  No matter what.

Dad finished him pumpkin long after the kids had gone to bed, so there it sits, ready for breakfast in the morning.

End of Fall Ball

This kid had an amazing baseball season.  In fact, he got the game ball again today.  Normally, everyone gets it once, but, everyone had had it once and Coach picked someone today and it was Will!  Since it was our last game, there was a team party at the Y.  The boys enjoyed an hour of swimming in the pool followed by pizza, cupcakes and trophies in a classroom.

Coach had two extra trophies to surprise the boys.  An MVP and a batting title.  Will had no idea anyone was calculating his stats because, well, he would obsess on it rather than play and have fun.  It turned out, he had the best batting average on the team.  He was 21/30 for the season.  That's .700.  He got the batting title trophy!  (which is now broken and superglue isn't working so we'll be replacing that this week)

He was so proud, but so Will.  He sat the coach down and asked to see all the stats and understand how it is calculated.  Oh man.

Can't wait for spring!!

Punkin Patch

Kylie had her annual field trip to the pumpkin patch today!  Izzy's class also had a field trip today and since Andi is still recovering from surgery, we took Izzy along with us.

We fed the chickens, went on a hay ride, played in the hay barn.

We picked pumpkins and went in the sunflower maze.

We ate lunch with Izzy's class since Kylie's class didn't stay for lunch.  Then the girls and Mom visited the barn.  Since this is "our" farm, we spent more time there than the rest of the preschoolers.  The girls have very specific favorites of the farm and must do the things they have been doing since they were 1.

It was a great day after some terrible storms last night.  Yay for nice weather!
