Sunny California

After a whole week of rain (sorry Gram!), it's in the upper 70s and lower 80s this week. Will was happy to switch to his summer wardrobe and make use of his new sun hats during Stroller Strides this week. Jackson was also back from his big trip to Hawaii and the boys were happy to sit and hang out together at the park.

Sweet Potato Weekend

This weekend, Will got his first taste of a "real" food. As you can see, he was a bit surprised at the new taste but he kept going back for more, even after his incredibly cute gag face. Well, maybe only his parents think it's cute...but don't worry, it really was just a face with no other side effects. Here's the video of Will conquering sweet potatoes. To prove he survived his first vegetable, here's a picture of him wearing his food, which is what happens when you sneeze with a mouthful of semi-liquid veggies. Orange is his color, don't you think?

Gram Visits

This week we were lucky to have Gram visit and stay with us for the week. Will sure had fun playing with his Gram and talking to her nonstop. Even though it rained most of the week, Gram was able to enjoy her time in California with Megan and Will during her school vacation.

Will was also surprised to find that Josh suddenly appeared in the early morning hours today. Josh got back at 4:30 this morning so Gram was able to spend at least one day with the whole family before heading back to another snow storm on the east coast. (sorry, guys!)

Happy Half Birthday, Will!

Will is 6 months old today! We can't believe how quickly he's grown. Yesterday, he had his 6 month checkup at the doctor's. He weighs 18 pounds, 13 ounces and he's 27.25 inches long. He put on a brave face for his 7 shots and was a real trooper through the whole checkup. Thanks for watching Will's adventures and milestones for his first 6 months, we are sure he'll have many more in the next 6 months!

State of the Blog Address

Here's a short story for you: When Megan was little, she was riding in the backseat of the car with family. The family was talking amongst themselves when it occurred to little Megan that no one was paying attention to her. That's when she announced, "Excuse me...nobody's talking to me!" Not a single holiday goes by without mention of that Megan line.

Well...guess what? Someone is pretty much always talking to Megan these days and it's Will! Will loves to babble and make noises from the moment he wakes up until, quite literally, the moment he falls asleep (he babbles himself to sleep). Here's a video of his speech. All of the videos of Will that we have made so far are also attached to this one so you can see how he's changed and grown. He'll be 6 months old next week! Enjoy.

Talent Show

As Will nears his big 6 month mark next week, he's perfecting some of his major talents. Seeing as he already puts everything in his mouth, he was delighted to discover that he can get his toes in there too. We've been telling him how delicious they are, so we guess he finally decided to try for himself.

He also realized that he has this neat little thing in his mouth called a tongue which he can stick out, move around, and lick things with... you know, to make sure he wants it in his mouth first.

My Funny Valentine

Will is approximately 25 inches tall and 19 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He enjoys long walks, warm baths, drinking milk, cuddling on the couch, and being tickled. He likes to spend time with people who like to giggle as much as he does. Any possible Valentines should know that he still lives with his parents but he has a lot of love to go around and plenty of hugs and drool filled kisses for everyone that loves him!

Happy Valentine's Day from an angel!
PS: Thanks to Gram for the various Valentine's Day outfits!

Saturday Morning at the Park

Today, Josh left for his two week mission up in Northern California. Before he left, though, we were able to spend a little time at the park. Will is now so good at sitting up that he can give the swings a try...at a very slow pace. He also decided to test drive the other parts of the playground; with Daddy's help of course.

More, Please!

This morning we gave Will some baby oatmeal. He LOVED it. One of the big changes from when we've given him the rice cereal was that we got these new spoons that allow him to feed himself. He quickly figured out when to go back for refills. He's a free refill kind of guy.

Ready for Super Sunday

Will is getting excited for the Superbowl tomorrow. He's been sporting his Patriots gear: pacifier included. We bought him this balloon at the grocery store today. They were definitely NOT flying off the shelf here in Charger territory! GO PATS!

Making Friends

Mommy's not the only one making friends at Stroller Strides! Will has his own little group of babies around his age. Here he is with Jackson. Jackson is 22 days older than Will and they are both pretty solid boys. Jackson has his own blog too! http://jacksondavidhoward.blogspot.com They are such cool kids to have their own websites and exercise with their Moms every morning!
