Look at me!

I've been practicing my push ups with Dad and check out how good I am getting! Yesterday's doctor's appointment was very hard on me...6 shots! At least they gave me Scooby-Doo band-aids! I tipped the scales at 14lbs 4 oz and the doctor said he can guess I like to eat.

Tonight's Starting Pitcher

Will is ready and waiting for his call from Terry Francona. He's praying for a Sox victory, but he's not a lazy fan, he'll go out and do his part if they need him, he's all warmed up and ready to go. He can even do a little version of Papelbon's "River Dance" (with a little help).

Wildfires

Many people have called or emailed us, concerned that we live in the area of the wildfires. We do live in the area where many wildfires were happening, but, we were lucky enough to leave our apartment on Monday afternoon and spend the week at Joe, Jackie and Joey's house in Lakeside. We returned home last night and everything is ok, just very ashy and smokey and we hope the people affected by the fires are safe and that they are able to rebuild anything that they lost. The devastation that we saw as we drove back home was incredible, and things are not over yet. Here's a picture of Camp Pendleton taken by Cpl. Nathan Sapp of the Scout Staff Newspaper. Please keep the people who were affected in your thoughts and prayers.

Have your Sox and eat 'em too

While waiting for the Sox game to start, Josh got a craving for sugar cookies. Of course, with Josh, everything is an opportunity to be creative! Here is his project! We're saving the Sox until it's over but the "regular" cookies were delicious!

Red Sox Nation in California

Just because you live on the other side of the country doesn't mean your loyalties change! Of course, the one good thing about living here is that the games end right around our bedtime and not the next day. And just remember...images on the computer are not always as they are in real life!

Big Man on Campus Got Mail

After a rather uneventful day at home, the UPS guy showed up at the door with a package! It was from Michelle, the photographer! We were excited to see the prints she made and the slideshow (http://www.michellecarrphotography.com/Platenik/)
on DVD, but Will was excited to fling his hands through the orange confetti Michelle put in the box. It makes a nice crinkly sound! Don't worry, he didn't eat any of it. He sure has changed since his first days when Michelle took those pictures, and that shirt he's wearing, which says "Big Man on Campus" is a size 6 month! He's not even 2 months old yet (Sunday is still 2 days away).

Go Fly a Kite

We took Will to the beach today to fly our kites. He was, as always, an active participant in the family activity.

The best of both

Mom and Dad are pretty fun.

Here's my winking face.

Just my boy and me...

After a morning trip to Lowe's, Josh and Will were having fun together. Big smiles for Dad!

Sneaky Smiles

Hard to catch a smile on that boy- he stops as soon as the camera comes out! Here is our best try. Maybe we'll have better luck tomorrow.

An Afternoon at the Park

Grammie, Grandpa, Great Nana, Will, Megan and Josh went to the park for a little bit this afternoon. Josh and Grandpa practiced their chipping on the grass while Will took it all in. He won't sleep when we go out to new places because he wants to see everything! Once we got home, the big yawns came out, though.
PS: Leave us a comment so we know you're checking on us!
