10 Days Old

It's pretty hard to be 10 days old. Dad finally made it back to CA and we should finally meet on the 17th! Thanks for watching me grow!

Look what I got!

Mom and Dad better get used to having someone else in charge for a while! Today, I had my first doctor's appointment and I already weigh 7lbs 13oz. The doctor called me a "thriving boy".

Mommy's New Man

Sorry Dad, Mom has someone new to hold hands with. Just kidding... lucky for Josh, Megan has two hands! Josh is making his journey back to California right now and probably checking this website so Hi Dad! He should arrive safely in California by the 1st. Will can't wait to meet his Dad and share the story of his first few weeks of life. As you can see, he has it pretty rough.

William Mark Platenik

Welcome Will!

Will was born on August 21st at 6:53am. He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 21" long. Megan was in labor for 20 hours but Will had other plans, so a C-section was needed. We've been at the hospital now for 4 days but should be allowed home soon. A professional photographer came to take pictures of the newest Platenik and a sample of her work is on her website: http://mcp.typepad.com/theblog/

Michelle was amazing and I was so lucky to have her and Charlene, our doula, with me during the labor and delivery. Here are a few of our photos from Will's first few days. Grampa, Grammie and Gram waited out the 20 hours in the waiting room while Josh called every few hours for updates from Megan. In the end, Will is here and very healthy and incredibly strong!

The Waiting Game

Only 6 days until the big due date but we would really love to have Will here sooner than that. Josh is due back in CA at the end of the month and would love to have his wife and baby there to greet him! Here's a picture of Will during what we hope is his last few days of privacy. (and the flowers are from Josh...he's wonderful huh?) Think labor thoughts for us please!
