1st Summer Soccer Game

I was completely amazed at how well Will did at his soccer game tonight.  Up until tonight, it's been whole group drills and skills and they didn't even make teams until they emailed the parents with the rosters.  I wasn't sure how Will was going to translate the skills and drills to an actual game on the outdoor field.

Um, look at that kid go!  It was HOT out there and he just kept sprinting and seemed to really understand what to do, who to pass to, etc.  

His team won 10-8.  He almost scored a bunch of times and passed it to another kid several times when that kid scored.  Pretty impressive.

Waterpark fun

Mom had the camera today at the water park and managed to remember to use it!  

We spend almost every afternoon here.  In fact, today we went straight from our Y where Mommy was working this morning, to this Y where the waterpark is.  

It was a hot hot day but around 3pm some really dark clouds moved in very fast and sent people running for their cars as umbrellas and chairs went flying in the wind.  It was crazy how quickly the storm came in.  Luckily, we had noticed the clouds and were preparing to buy ice cream when they asked everyone to leave.  

Swimming Machine

Kylie has been swimming since she could walk, basically.  She has amazing swimming skills and does not stop for the entire time we are at the pool.

Last Game

The fans were ready.

And Will hit off the coach again.

And ran the bases.

And played 1st base, which he LOVES.

And Coach Rusty gathered the team after and told them they played so hard and they won the championship and they get trophies!

What a great season!  We'll be back in the fall for more!

Froggin'

We got the kids a small critter container to keep their catches in.  Well, Kylie's catches mostly, but they both enjoy watching whatever they catch.  This afternoon, it was a frog.  I swear, it's the same frog every time.

After baseball, we came home to find a giant turtle in the container that Daddy had found in the road.  How exciting!

Game #11

Oh, what a game!  Our numbers are dwindling since the season was supposed to end last week and now it's summer and people aren't around.  This means a lot more action on the very muddy field.

Will had 2 singles off the coach tonight!  and one was a real great hit!

He also threw the ball to 3rd and got someone out and also raced someone home twice and got them both out.

Moving on....Summer Soccer League

Will was really struggling with choosing a fall sport: t-ball or soccer.  In order to make it easier on all of us, he is doing summer soccer!  

He loved it.  Plus, it's inside, so even though it was pouring out tonight, we played soccer!
