Mud Run

Right after baseball, we zoomed on over to the YMCA for the family mud run.  This week has been crazy for Mom, but today the kids got to have a little fun using everything that Mom spent all week doing.  Wednesday was preschool field day at the Y.  Kylie did field day and all the stations with her class while Mom helped run the obstacle course for all 5 preschool classes.  It was HOT that day.  On Thursday, it was 20 degrees colder and misty/rainy all day.  Mom taught her usual 2 classes and then had a mud run for our last homeschool fitness class in the afternoon.

We saved the obstacle course and mud run set up for families to use today.

The kids had a blast.  Kylie, especially seems to love these races.  She calls herself a runner and thanked Mom a million times for sharing her mud run.

Here's hoping they sleep in tomorrow!

Mets Games

Will had a game on Wednesday afternoon that was never on any of our schedules.  A mom called Megan at 2 in the afternoon after noticing the game on the Little League website.  Frantic phone calls and texts flew around after that, and eventually, we had 9 players to play a surprise game in the evening.  In between thunder storms that tore through here.  Will played catcher and 2nd base and got 2 hits in his 2 times at bat.  He got the game ball!

Today, he had another game against a VERY good team full of 8 year old men.  Seriously, these kids were huge and are moving up to AAA next season.  They smashed the ball and fielded like pros.

Our team hung in there.  Will played catcher, outfield, and shortstop.  He got 3 hits and scored once.  He took a ground ball off of his forehead and didn't even cry.  He later reported he got sniffly but didn't cry.  They did make him sit the rest of that inning with ice because it was off his head pretty hard.  He has a faint mark of the stitches on his forehead, but he got right up to bat again when it was his turn.

It was a tough game, but our team hung in there and never gave up and maybe in two years we will be those 8 year old pros.

Memorial Day a little Late

I forgot I took these pictures on Memorial Day.  Mom ran a race that morning and placed 4th in her age group.  They only give special prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but 4th is pretty good.  Dad started a deck project that has since lasted 3 weekends.  Mom and Kylie went to the waterpark for the afternoon while Will stayed home and played with a neighbor and Dad worked on the deck.  We ate cookout food and had a nice evening.

Mets first WIN!

Will had a baseball game this afternoon.  It's Memorial Day Weekend, which left us with exactly 9 players.  Will played catcher for 4 of the 6 innings.  He was such a trooper about it, because it's not his favorite position but some of the kids who usually rotate in there were gone.  He never complained and it was HOT.

He got two great hits, too.  AND! The Mets won their first game 9-3!  Good job, boys.

Kylie's Last TBall

Unfortunately, Will's field trip lasted past Kylie's last TBall "game".  Mom was sad to miss it and Kylie missed Mom, but she actually tries harder when Mom isn't around, so it was probably better.  Our friends Kristen and Lilly brought Kylie to TBall and since it's at the Y, we knew she would be in good hands.

She is one determined player.

And, she got a medal and a shirt!  Mom arrived back at the Y just as TBall was finishing up.  Kylie had brought popsicles for everyone on her team as a treat, so she was so excited to share those with everyone.
