How does your Garden grow?

Grammie and Grandpa are here for the annual planting of the vegetable and fruit garden!

Will has been looking forward to this weekend for a long time.  This year, he requested that we plant "salad" and corn.  Kylie and Grandpa planted sunflowers along the fence.  We also made a pumpkin and winter squash patch on the side of the house.

We planted cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, corn, lettuce, carrots, yellow squash, zucchini, pumpkins, winter squash, and watermelon.  Here's hoping something edible grows!

Oh, and Kylie's new favorite activity is catching caterpillars.  She was putting them on Grandpa's back.

Game #2

Will had his 2nd T-ball game this afternoon!  He did great and had quite a crowd of fans to cheer him on, from Grammie and Grandpa to Bruce and Terry and even our friends Kristen, Ethan, and Lilly.  

He had 3 great hits and even fielded the ball and threw to first one time.

Field Trip Thursday

Will's class and one other class went on an awesome field trip today to the reservoir.  

We started off in the Nature Center where we got to touch and pet a few things, including a corn snake named Pocket.  Kylie was enchanted.

From there, we headed down to the lake shore where the guide gave us all jars and containers and buckets and nets for catching frogs, crawfish, snails, tadpoles, and small fish.  The kids were in HEAVEN.  Guess who the best frog catcher was in the whole group?  Yup, Kylie.

She was so good about sharing her findings and her skills with all the other kids.

After this, we went on a hike through the trails and topped it off with lunch by the lake and more exploring.  Grammie got to join us on this field trip, so that was an added bonus!

Kylie is in her comfort zone when the weather warms up.  The girl does not like cold weather AT ALL.

She loves the outdoors, sunshine, flowers, frogs, bugs, and anything else that is outside.

She's always been like this.  See?

Kylie's T-ball Day

Kylie had her Tuesday T-ball afternoon today.

It was hitting day!

The kids are so tired by the end of the day lately, it's awesome.  The weather has been amazing and everyone has been spending so much time outside!

First Game

Will had his first game tonight!  It was so much fun and so exciting.  The Cubs did GREAT out there on the field, really showing an understanding of what to do with the ball and where to run.

In T-ball, each team bats every player before they switch.  The fielders still try to get outs, but everyone gets a turn to bat.  They each do this three times before the game is over.

Will had 3 really good hits.  Mom video taped two of them and took pictures of the other.

Way to go, Cubs!
