Signs of Spring

Even though we had a fake summer last week, things have returned to more of a spring-like existence around here. This morning, Will found (and caught) this moth on our front steps. We're told it's a Luna Moth, which is supposed to only come out at night and yet, there it was, on our front steps. Amazing, huh?


Our Azalea bushes are blooming more and more everyday, so we try to check on them every morning.

The work on the rock wall as slowed considerably, but we're still hopeful it will be done before the big birthday bash next week. Next week?! We'll have a two year old next week?!

Scootering Sister

This peanut has NO IDEA that she's not even 2 yet. She speaks volumes, wears undies, sleeps in a big girl bed, opens and closes...and locks doors in the house. Dresses and undresses herself (the undressing in public is sort of a thing we're working on) Now she rides the scooter like a pro up and down the driveway. Helmet, on first, of course.

The Lowe's delivery man was here this morning at 8am. A tractor-trailer truck and a HUGE forklift in our driveway and yard all while eating breakfast...what could be better? (Will only had one bowl of cereal, he was so excited!)



And so, with his faithful companions and supervisors, Daddy set to work as soon as he got home from work.

and by bedtime, he had made a great deal of progress.

Over the River and Through the Woods...

Man, that leprechaun got us again this year! There were shamrocks, lucky charms, and gold coins everywhere on Saturday morning. Will's underwear and jammies were thrown all over his room and the leprechaun even peed (green pee!) in the toilet and did NOT flush. Sigh. After we picked up the mess, we planned for our day trip to Maryland to Great Aunt Donna's house.

Her neighborhood is next to the Potomac River, so we headed down to the river shore for some exploring while the corn beef and cabbage was still cooking.

We looked up to see our boy, knee deep in the river...with his shoes and socks on. Oh, that boy!

We had a delicious meal and dessert back at the house with Josh's cousins and Aunt and Nana before we headed home. The kids were absolutely thrilled that Grandpa Joe joined us for the weekend and they are still busy exhausting each other today.

Little Leprechauns

Our little leprechauns are proudly showing their Irish side this St. Patrick's Day. They are excited to head to Maryland for a St. Patrick's Day lunch where they will find Grandpa Joe waiting to join us for the weekend! So exciting! Happy Green Day! Kiss a cute leprechaun if you catch one.

Back to the Farm

With the temperature hitting 87 today and Mommy having the afternoon off from teaching at the Y, we made plans with our friends to head to our favorite farm for some exploring and playing.

This place is so amazing for the kids to visit and I do hope they realize how lucky they are to go to someone's family farm and watch the workers planting and hauling and weeding and building and caring for the animals. Quite literally, we park in their driveway and the owners greet us along with their dog and we are free to roam and explore every inch of their property.

The peach trees were blossoming today and the kids had a great time running through them.

As we approached the chickens, Kylie was yelling, "CHICKEN DINNER!" We did not anticipate that when we taught her to say, "Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!" when she was learning to use the potty. She now refers to the animal as "chicken dinner". Oops.
