Well, the day finally arrived for Kylie and Mom to have an entire morning at the American Girl Doll store. Kylie was so excited, we were out the door and up in Washington, D.C. at the mall before it even opened. We had made a personal shopping appointment and we are so glad we did that, because the store is overwhelming. It is two levels of all things doll.

The personal shopper meets you in a small pink living room type room and talks to the parent and girl about what you are planning to buy that day and what interests you. She then takes you around the store to all the things you talked about and Kylie got to fill two bags full of everything she liked. Then we take that stuff back to the small room and lay it out to make decisions. This makes it much less overwhelming. Kylie wanted a doll that looked like her, which ended up being Kit Kittredge, one of the historical girls. There are some that have characters and names already and others that just have various traits to look like girls.
She also chose a puppy and a couple of outfits to match her doll.
She was in heaven.
After our shopping, we had a reservation at the bistro, where they serve both you and your doll.
Kylie kept saying how it was such a "proper" place.
She had a GREAT time and can not wait to go back again.
